Targets and objectives
There are three main stages to intercultural understanding.

- To raise awareness of cultural differences and an understanding of the frameworks in which these differences occur.
- To develop knowledge and understanding of why these differences occur so as to develop respect, sensitivity and consequentially reduce culture shock
- To give the participants tips and guidelines for working with different cultures and developing effective intercultural skills to avoid cross-cultural crisis and reach the ultimate goal of effective international communication. to intercultural understanding

The course will also have secondary consequences of developing language and communication skills.

The course blends the writings of the main cross-cultural thinkers with the presenterfs 12 years international experience. The presenter and course-designer has lived and/or worked in a number of countries including UK, France, Sweden, Finland, Russia, China and Japan.
